Doctor
Dr. Melissa McCormick
|
Dr. McCormick has been actively involved in veterinary medicine since the age of twelve years where she started as an animal caretaker at Hammond Animal Hospital. While attending LSU, she worked at an all feline practice until she started veterinary school. She graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and came back to work here, reuniting with a few of her favorite pets she knew from the past.
Dr. McCormick developed an interest in animal behavior and training during veterinary school and became active in dog training. She and her Shih Tzu, Kali, graduated from basic, intermediate and advanced obedience courses. Kali also went on to achieve the highest recognition a non-show dog can attain by successfully completing the "Canine Good Citizen" exam her first time around. They were active participants in Tiger H.A.T.S. (Human Animal Therapy Services) throughout veterinary school, making monthly visits to various hospitals, schools and nursing homes.

Dr. McCormick married her high school sweetheart, Brian in 1995. Their family at this time includes 6 dogs and 2 cats. In her spare time she enjoys photography, scrapbooking and practically any type of arts and crafts. |
Dr. Tyra Davis

Dr. Davis graduated from Tuskegee Veterinary School in 2003. Originally from New Iberia, she is at home with the "small town feel" of Hammond.

Dr. Dale Peyroux
Dr. Peyroux graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. After working two years at Metairie Small Animal Hospital, he founded Hammond Animal Hospital in 1982. One of Dr. Peyroux's proudest professional moments was when Hammond Animal Hospital was voted as the "Best Veterinary Hospital" in Tangipahoa Parish for the sixth year.
Dr. Peyroux has been married to Patti since 1980. They have three children: Elizabeth, Ashley, and Alex. Their extended family includes nine cats, two dogs, one snake, and two doves.
Dr. Peyroux is an adjunct professor at Southeastern Louisiana University and a member of the following organizations:

Dr. Peyroux is the bassist for "Projectile - The Fabulous Veterinary Dance Band" that plays for major veterinary conferences across the United States. In 2006, Projectile opened for "REO Speedwagon" in Orlando at the North American Veterinary Conference and "Clint Black" in Las Vegas at the Western Veterinary Conference. In 2004 "Projectile" was the main entertainment for the Atlantic Coast Veterinary Conference in Atlantic City. "What a great opportunity this is for me! I attend continuing education seminars during the day to learn the newest treatments and techniques in veterinary medicine. And at night I get to entertain veterinarians and their staff from around the country!" " Projectile" was the featured entertainment on Family Night at the American Veterinary Medical Association's Annual Convention in Minneapolis in 2005. In 2007, "Projectile" was the featured entertainment at the Central Veterinary Conference in Kansas City. In 2009, "Projectile" was the featured entertainment at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine's 50th year celebration in Indianapolis.
In 2008, Dr. Peyroux served as a moderator at the North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando and the Central Veterinary Conference - East in Baltimore. He also served as a moderator at the American Veterinary Medical Association Convention in New Orleans and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress in Dublin, Ireland. In 2009, Dr. Peyroux served as a moderator again at N.A.V.C. in Orlando and C.V.C.-East in Baltimore. |
Management
Patti

Patti is a part-time manager at Hammond Animal Hospital. Her job is to keep things running smoothly. She has been employed since 1982 at Hammond Animal Hospital.
Patti grew up in Baton Rouge and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1974 with a degree in Medical Technology. She worked at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge from 1975 until 1980. She was supervisor of Bacteriology and Parasitology. She also worked at Touro Hospital in New Orleans from 1980 until 1982. She received the Ortho Award in 1974 for her published paper on anticoagulants in blood collection systems. She is a current member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Patti has served as a moderator at the Central Veterinary Conference-East in Baltimore in 2008 and 2009. She was also a moderator in Dublin, Ireland at the World Small Animal Veterinary Conference in 2008.
Patti's hobbies include reading and scrapbooking.

Technician
Crystal 
Crystal has been employed with Hammond Animal Hospital since 1997 as our Head Nurse. She is married with two children, 10 cats, 4 dogs, 3 birds and 1 rabbit.
In her spare time, she is actively involved with the Ponchatoula Dixie Youth Baseball/Softball Organization and has been concessions manager for the past three years. She also enjoys horseback riding and swimming. |
Christine

Christine has been working at Hammond Animal Hospital for many years. She has recently advanced from nurse to receptionist.

Reception
Cindy 
Cindy joined Hammond Animal Hospital as a receptionist in December
2001. She and her husband Randy and their 3 adult children have lived
in Tangipahoa Parish for the past 18 years. Cindy & Randy enjoy
traveling with their 2 year old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix, Laci. |
Tonia
 Tonia is an evening receptionist who really takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. Tonia has been a client of Hammond Small Animal Hospital for over 13 years and has worked here for two years. " I love what I do because of the people I work with - and also because of the love and compassion that I have for animals." Tonia has lived in the Hammond area for her whole life. She is married and has two children, Chris and Caitlin. Her "furry" children are a dog named "Sam" and a cat named "Saber". |
Maggie
 Maggie is a morning receptionist and loves her job. She is married to A.C. and they have two children. She is currently owned by two dogs, two cats, a guinea pig, and a ferret. Her favorite things are taking care of her family, quilting, and working outside.

Ashlee

Ashlee assists the veterinarians with treatments and surgery. She is a student at Southeastern Louisiana University and plans on becoming a veterinarian.

Ashley has been working at Hammond Animal Hospital for many years. She works on weekends and during the summertime. A real cat-lover, Ashley has adopted a deaf cat named Iceberg. |
Alex

Alex is a student at Southeastern Louisiana University. One of his most important jobs is to keep all of our patients as comfortable as possible. He currently belongs to a cornsnake named "Houdini Linguini Nugini". |
